The Direction in Viewing the Past

Image
To which destination are you moving in your personal history? If your direction is wrong, you will multiply the burden of the past. If it is right, you will decode, become free by transcending the past and become lighter. Moving forward back in our advanced ages is straightforward. We can easily break away from the moment and slip into the past. We distance ourselves from the future and become past-oriented, for we are nearing the end, and whatever we are going to do, we have done so far. But those at an early age are more future-oriented. But these young people, too, do and should look to the past. Our article is about journeys to the past. When we dive into the past, there are positive, negative, and neutral memories. Right decisions, successes we show, loving friendships, situations where the ego is stroked, etc., are some of our positive memories. Wrong decisions, defeats, humiliations where the ego is battered, etc., are our negative memories. Thinking and evaluating the past life

Non-Judgmental Witness: Transcendent Self/Core Self

Image
We wander through the past, now, and future dimensions of time. The now/moment is the place we avoid the most, which is why we are deprived of many things. From love, peace, tranquility…in short, from life… Some say that the now/moment is a beyond-time sacred space and eternal. They say that pain, suffering, and sorrow are caused by wandering over the bad memories of the past and worrying about the future, sleeping with them, and getting up with them. These are true; I sense them more than I believe; I experience them. The divine transcendent self can only be felt in the holy and eternal now. Our view of the past from now is not in the conditions of those times but through the eyes of the present. We often reconstruct or distort the past. We regret, blame ourselves, and suffer, saying that I wouldn't have done that if I had the current mind. Although we are wiser(!) now, we imagine the future mixed with anxieties and fears, as we are conditioned by the loser's and guilt's p

Where is the God?

Image
We become travelers and travel worldwide, and the day becomes the evening before we can find a friend. We do not know that the friend is within us, together with the universe: Nirvana. Is there any place we don't go? We go walking, vacation, chat, go to a mosque, tavern. We go to social media; we go to reading; we go to writing. Unconsciously, we often go to the past, go to the future. Thoughts, dreams, and fiction drag us after. The chattering mind that can't shut up and the restless body that can't calm down is always at work, pulling us one after the other. We fall after desires, drives, and habits as voluntary enslaved people. There is a voice within us that we cannot hear in all the turmoil of these travels. "Come closer, come closer!" it says. It calls us, "Arrive to here and to now, and come to yourself"...  It is right next to us on every journey, but we never visit it. Oh, if we could drop by! Everything is there. It is a place free from the bod

Goodbye 2021

Image
Whether the day is going well or not, when you lay your head on the pillow in the evening, bittersweet memories of the day fly through your tired mind. There would be a moment, you get stuck on one of these details, you dive into it, and you drown. Lots of other details similar to this call you to themselves too. You immediately run to them and manipulate one after another. You turn left and right in your bed. Somewhere far away, vague sparks of hope wait for breath, to froth. If you inhale them deeply, the fire of peace will warm every particle of your body. You fall into a sweet sleep. You wake up fresh and calm to the new day in the morning. You are better than yesterday. Tomorrow will be even better… Our world revolves around itself; it becomes day, becomes night. Revolves around the sun; it becomes spring, summer, and winter. It becomes the year with its breeze, storm, cold, and warmth. O nizami! You turn around yourself; then you become the evolu

Meditation - Mindfulness Breath

Finally, I found meditation as a way to get rid of overthinking obsessions and similar annoyances. I also recommend it to those who are dealing with such problems. I was born in 1961. My student and professional life coincided with the turbulent times of my country, Turkey. It had been difficult for me to maintain my psychological balance among people who blindly believe stereotypical norms of their groups instead of general morality and ethics. Working without entering the magnetic range of any group brought about interpersonal conflicts. There were many times when I was overwhelmed and looked for a peaceful corner to escape. Finally, I retired in 2002 without severe loss. When I look back, I see many successful projects together with interpersonal conflicts. As I stepped into my pleasant corner and dreamed of a peaceful life, the troubles and memories I had in the past started to disturb me. I once reflected my mood in my diary like this: "Because of the

Bean Technique in Time Management

Image
We are not aware of how much time we spend on idle activities. It must not be nice to understand how we dissipate precious and limited time when we put our heads on the pillow in the evenings. When we evaluate the months, years, and all life, we may feel the burden of whatever we want to do but cannot do. Not to regret tomorrow, we desire to take on the reins of our life as soon as possible without being caught up in the sweet wind of distractions and to engage in functional activities. But how will we do that? With the idea of further facilitating my self-control, I developed a technique I called the bean technique, inspired by what James Clear described in his book Atomic Habits. I took two tea plates and put six beans in one. Six beans represent 6 hours of proper use, each for one hour. Throughout the day, for every hour I use for the activities I aim for, I take off a bean from the full plate and put it into the other one that starts empty in the morning. netsentez My goal is to

When I was a mechanic apprentice

Image
When I was 13-15 years old in the 1970s, I worked as an apprentice of a radio repairman during the summer holidays. I gained a lot there at a young age in understanding life and people. The experiences I have gained, on the one hand, protected me from the worst of life; on the other hand, it led to my personal development. When the customer brought his broken radio for repair, he would assume that he knew the solution as if he had diagnosed the fault. They would say, "It works, but it doesn't make a sound! The wire is broken; there is a soldering job!" When we came across such explanations, we wouldn't have questioned why they hadn't fix it themselves since they knew the fault. If we told them to show us the broken cable, they couldn't show it.  I was used to these kinds of diagnoses and treatments since I often heard about them. I didn't use to listen to them much. In such cases, taking in my hand the screwdriver, the side cutter, the avom
